Funeral is where a loved one is taken by our Funeral Director to the crematorium without a funeral ceremony/service.

Over the past couple of years an increasing number of families are choosing the direct cremation funeral option as an alternative to what is regarded as a conventional funeral for a number of reasons including:-

Families are not always comfortable having a formal funeral at which the body of their loved one is present

With many families having relatives not living local, a loved ones funeral can have only a very small number of mourners in physical attendance.

The Direct funeral gives the opportunity to say farewell to a loved one at a time that maybe more convenient to the entire family in some cases some months after their passing in a more fitting setting without the formalities at the immediate time.

From a financial view point, because of the simplicity, the Heritage Direct Funeral is the most cost effective way for families to facilitate a funeral.

In many cases however cost is not the main factor, John Lennon and David Bowie both chose this type of service.

The key differences

You won't be able to visit your loved one in the funeral home
You aren't able to choose the day and time of the cremation
There isn't a service and mourners are not able to attend the crematorium
Your loved one will travel with our Funeral Director directly to the crematorium.
